  Nigerian DJ, Obianuju Catherine Udeh popularly known as DJ Switch has taken to social media to blast Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed. Recall that on the 20th of October 2020, Dj Switch live-streamed the Lekki Massacre on Instagram and has since received discrediting feedbacks from the Nigerian government. Group Decries Suspension Of Ebonyi Lawmaker, Gives EBHA 72 Hours ultimatum

  A socio-cultural and political group, Izhi-Nnodo Progressive Front, IPF has issued a 72-Hour ultimatum to the Ebonyi State House of Assembly asking it to lift the suspension of the member representing Ebonyi North West Constituency in the State’s House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Aleke. Hon. Aleke was suspended indefinitely on Friday, penultimate week on allegations of misconducts via a motion of urgent public importance moved by leader of the House, Hon. Victor Chukwu and seconded by the member representing Ohaukwu North Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Onah. In a statement released yesterday in by its National President, Comrade Sunday Nwafoke and Secretary, Desmond Nkwegu in Abakaliki yesterday, the group however said the action of the lawmakers was questionable, spurious and antidemocratic. Covid-19 Vaccine: As the world readies to adopt digital travel identification, China pushes for QR Code global travel system

  Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for a “global mechanism” that would use QR codes to open up international travel. READ ALSO: Qantas Airlines will ban travellers who don’t have the COVID vaccine — can countries, other businesses follow suit? “We need to further harmonise policies and standards and establish ‘fast tracks’ to facilitate the orderly flow of people,” he said. The codes will be used to help establish a traveller’s health status. But Human Rights advocates warn that the codes could be used for “broader political monitoring and exclusion”. Mr Xi made the comments at the G20 summit, an online meeting of heads of state from the world’s 20 largest economies, which was hosted by Saudi Arabia over the weekend. He said the codes could be used to recognise “health certificates based on nucleic acid test results”, according to a transcript published by Chinese state news agency Xinhua. Nigerian Senate Confirms President Buhari’s Code Of Conduct Bureau Nominees

  Nigeria Senate on Tuesday confirmed Buhari’s nomination of appointment of members of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) after the screening report was submitted to the plenary. Chairman of Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Patrick Ayo Akinyelure presented a report, stating that the nominees have been screened and found satisfactory. He said there was need for immediate confirmation to enable CCB continue its work in line with the constitution, noting that the absence of members has created a ‘lacuna’ in the agency’s capacity to discharge its statutory responsibilities. “That the Senate do receive and consider the report of the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions on the confirmation of the nomination for appointment as members of the Code of Conduct Bureau. ” After his explanation, Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan called for confirmation, since there was no petition against any of the nominee.
